Collection: Wood + Soda Fired Pots
Items in this Collection were all fired in a wood or soda kiln. A wood firing is a communal effort that often takes up to five days to complete and we reach around 2400 degrees. The glaze effects and patterns on these pots come from the ash from the wood that moves through the kiln and falls on the pots. With the heat work, the ash melts on the pots creating the glaze.
Soda is similar in how work gets glazed. Those pots are fired for 18 hours in a gas kiln. At peak temperature we introduce soda ash and baking soda that moves through the kiln and melts on to the pots.
All work in this collection is microwave and dish washer safe.
